Strong advocacy doesn't begin on opening day of the legislative session, and it doesn't end when lawmakers adjourn.

Throughout the 2026 Short Session, the Regional Business Alliance worked closely with the bipartisan Central Oregon Legislative Caucus to ensure business voices remained part of the conversation. Regular communication allowed the Alliance to share regional business perspectives with legislators while providing timely policy updates back to employers and partner organizations.

This bi-directional communication created an important feedback loop. Legislators gained a clearer understanding of how proposed legislation would affect employers across Central Oregon, while businesses stayed informed about emerging issues and opportunities to engage.

That relationship continues today through regular meetings, policy discussions, and collaboration during the legislative interim. As planning for the 2027 Legislative Session ramps up, these ongoing conversations will help ensure regional priorities are well understood before legislation is introduced.

What is the Central Oregon Legislative Caucus?

The Central Oregon Legislative Caucus is a bipartisan group of state legislators representing communities throughout Central Oregon. The caucus provides an opportunity for lawmakers to collaborate on regional issues and engage with business and community leaders on policies that impact the area's economy and quality of life.
