The OSU EEC houses a US DOE funded Industrial Training & Assessment Center (ITAC) that conducts no-cost energy assessments of small/mid-sized industrial sites. They typically arrange a one-day site visit at facilities where we tour the production process. During this tour they look for energy and productivity saving opportunities that they then compile into a confidential report for the facility. In addition, eligible companies that participate may apply for a DOE ITAC implementation grant of up to $300,000 per project (1:1 cost share).

They are now actively looking for eligible facilities to visit across Oregon. To qualify for a no-cost assessment, facilities must meet the following guidelines (exceptions are often possible):

  • Annual utility bills between $100k and $3.5 million
  • Fewer than 500 employees
  • No in-house energy professional
  • SIC Codes 20-39 / NAICS codes 31-33
  • Annual sales under $250 million
