This spring, Central Oregon employers can connect with teens in Bend-La Pine Schools about career opportunities as well as summer employment.

The third annual Life & Career Readiness Night will be held April 30, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Caldera High School. Student organizers invite businesses, nonprofits, public sector employers, and trade schools to participate with an information table at this two-hour event.

Interested in meeting students and their families to share information on the career pathways, internships, volunteer positions, educational travel or other opportunities you offer for teens, high school graduates or those completing industry certifications or college degrees? Life & Career Readiness Night is a free family event organized by high school students with assistance from Bend-La Pine Schools district staff. This event aims to inform middle and high school students and their families about the array of professional and educational opportunities available in Central Oregon, both before and after graduation.

“We saw great participation from employers in our area, and hundreds of students and their family members turned out for Life & Career Readiness the first two years that we hosted this event,” said Jack Strycharz, a junior at Caldera High School. “We would love to have some new names and faces join us for this year’s event. Students truly benefit from meeting and talking with professionals in our region. One conversation can spark interest in a career pathway they’ve never considered.”
