TEDxBend is known for celebrating ideas, community, and the human spirit in the heart of Central Oregon. But this year, those ideas will not just be spoken from the stage, they will be captured on canvas.

Subliminal Story Art, led by Director of Experience and Subliminal Story Artist Mark Jamnik, has been selected as the exclusive interactive art partner for the return of TEDxBend. Across two major events this May, Jamnik will facilitate a "VIP Collective Experience," inviting thought leaders, sponsors, and attendees to co-create a permanent legacy artifact for the Central Oregon community.

“The magic of TEDxBend isn’t just in the ideas we hear - it’s in what we create together. This year, we’re expanding beyond the spoken word into a shared sensory experience where art, music, and collaboration bring those ideas to life. When individuals each contribute their own voice, their own energy, their own creativity, something extraordinary happens - we build a collective expression that is more beautiful, more inspiring, and more meaningful than any one of us could create alone.” Scott Douglass, TEDxBend Executive Committee

The artistic process will begin at an TEDxBend VIP fundraising dinner on May 12 at Greg’s Grill in the Old Mill from 5pm-8pm and guests will step up to the canvas to make the first marks. Then, on May 29th, at a special TEDxBend speaker’s dinner, the next contributions will be added.

On May 30, during the main TEDxBend event, the canvas will be transported to the venue and opened up to all attendees. Guided by Jamnik, the broader Central Oregon community will add their energy to the creation, physically weaving their own stories into the artwork inspired by this year's theme of Rebirth.

While the main stage event is officially sold out, community members can still participate in the day's energy by securing tickets to the official TEDxBend Live Watch Party hosted at The Haven. Following the final presentation, Jamnik will transport the interactive canvas to the official TEDxBend After-Party, giving Watch Party attendees and the wider community an exclusive opportunity to make their final contributions to the legacy piece.

“Amidst a career transition, years ago, I turned off the news and began watching TED talks for insights and new perspectives,” says Jamnik. “I am incredibly honored to be participating with this wonderful brand, in Bend.  Our Collective Experience allows leaders and attendees to step out of the audience and into the creative process. They aren't just listening to ideas; they are collaborating and contributing to build a permanent cultural artifact that represents the energy of the evening. I like to provide continuity with these art experiences and the goal would be to have each person’s, take their intentional contribution from the canvas into their lives.”

Following the May 30 after party event, Jamnik will take the collaborative canvas back to his studio for professional refinement. The completed legacy masterpiece will then be officially unveiled and presented back to the community at a future TEDxBend gathering.

Jamnik’s VIP Collective Experience is a fully managed, high-end engagement model utilized by premium brands, wealth advisors, and executive teams to build deep brand loyalty and client retention.
