Destination Rehab, a Bend-based nonprofit that empowers individuals with neurologic conditions to access the outdoors and break down stigmas, is celebrating the success of its recent free Parkinson’s-specific programs made possible by a grant from the Parkinson’s Foundation. The organization is also excited to announce additional free classes for individuals with Parkinson’s and their caregivers beginning in 2026.

From October through December 2025, Destination Rehab hosted five free programs in Bend and Redmond designed to enhance mobility, strength, and confidence for people living with Parkinson’s disease (PD). Thanks to the Parkinson’s Foundation grant, all programs were offered at no cost to participants and their caregivers.

The following classes were held as part of this initiative:

    • Redmond PWR! Moves Level 1 (Oct. 8 – Dec. 3, 2025)
    • Redmond PWR! Moves Level 2 (Oct. 8 – Dec. 3, 2025)
    • Bend PWR! Moves Level 1 (Oct. 10 – Dec. 5, 2025)
    • Bend PWR! Moves Level 2 (Oct. 10 – Dec. 5, 2025)
    • Rock Climbing for Parkinson’s (Oct. 10 – Dec. 11, 2025)

Each program met once per week for eight weeks, offering a blend of physical activity, education, and community support. Participants reported increased confidence in movement, reduced feelings of isolation, and renewed enthusiasm for staying active.

Building on this success, Destination Rehab will continue to offer free Parkinson’s programs throughout 2026, including:

    • Redmond PWR! Moves Level 1: January 7 – February 25, 2026
    • Redmond PWR! Moves Level 2: January 7 – February 25, 2026
    • Walking Soccer (Indoor): January 28 – March 18, 2026
    • Walking Soccer (Outdoor): April 29 – June 17, 2026

All programs are free for individuals with Parkinson’s and their caregivers.
