Sierra James Construction is proud to announce that our on-staff architect, Ian Burgess, has designed four of the newest plans added to the City of Bend's Pre-Approved Plan Program. The plans recently became available to the public and can be used for a variety of housing types, including accessory dwelling units (ADUs), cottage clusters, townhomes, and single-family homes. The program is designed to help streamline the permitting process and make housing development more accessible for property owners.
The four new plans include a mix of housing options designed to meet the diverse needs of Central Oregon residents. Two of the plans incorporate Universal Design principles, creating homes that are more comfortable and functional for people of all ages and abilities. These designs are ideal for aging in place, multigenerational living, or anyone seeking amore accessible home environment.
Ian has long been passionate about creating thoughtful, efficient housing solutions for Central Oregon. In addition to designing custom homes, remodels, and ADUs for Sierra James clients, he has designed numerous Earth Advantage-certified homes throughout Oregon.
All four plans are available in mirrored configurations to accommodate a wider variety of lot layouts and site conditions. They were designed to be flexible, attractive, and adaptable.
The City of Bend's Pre-Approved Plan Program allows homeowners, developers, and builders to utilize plans that have already undergone significant code review, helping to simplify the path to construction. The program is intended to encourage the development of additional housing options throughout Bend and support the city's broader housing goals.
