The High Desert Museum
Explore one of the most exciting museums in the Northwest. The High Desert
Museum is a living museum of natural and cultural history with a unique array of
indoor and outdoor exhibits, nature trails, galleries, walk-through historic
scenes and live animal and pioneer presentations. Open every day, 9-5 (except
Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day). Take Highway 97 south from Bend
and follow the signs to the museum.

DesChutes Historical Center
129 NW Idaho, Bend. The Des Chutes Historical Center
exhibits relics of the county's colorful past, including displays of Indian
artifacts, pioneer school-room, timber industry, historic photos and changing
exhibits. Open Tuesday thru Saturday, 10 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. There is a small
admission charge: $2.50 for adults and $1.00 for children 6-15. Located on the
corner of Wall & Idaho, near the County Library. 389-1813. No admission charge. |
