Living with Predators: Bears and Wolves Opens January 23 at High Desert Museum

Feel as if you are surrounded by a pack of wolves, and bears as they squabble, coo, chuckle and even cry. Discover your role in these animals’ futures. Through recorded sound, intimate wildlife photography, groundbreaking field research, and live historical reenactments, gain insight into two of America’s top predators.
Chat with an 1880s fur trapper portrayed by a live reenactor. Hear his thoughts on wolves and bears. Glimpse the most intimate details of bears’ lives and language through the work of Dr. Lynn Rogers, who developed mutually trusting relationships with wild bears, including mothers and cubs.
“This exhibit delivers a sense of wonder about these animals that visitors can experience nowhere else – second only to the rare chance of meeting a bear or wolf in the wild,” said Museum Wildlife Curator Nolan Harvey. “Every visitor is destined to leave this exhibit with a deeper understanding of these animals.”
